Plans by the owners of the Trade.com Domain to sell it at auction for a minimum of $100,000 have drawn a sharp response.
Chehalis, Washington based Hans Schnauber said he owns the Web address online-investors.com and will give it away in a contest ending on Halloween.
"The demand for this domain should be quite obvious," said Hans Schnauber, owner of enter-2-win.com.
He also offered some harsh words for Joseph Bannon, who announced the Trade.com Auction last week.
"Corporate America is being duped," he said in a press release.
"If companies are looking for a top-level .com domain, we suggest using two words, separated by a hyphen.
This will save a company thousands of dollars by not purchasing a domain from any get-rich-quick artist," Schnauber said.
